Wed Night Race / BooozeCruise (Prep’n For Dallas Race Week)

Bryan Calk was in from Kuwait on leave.  He wanted to get out on the water…there was a race on the lake, so we went to BayView to race the Wed Night Series…Bryan, Dwight, and I sailed her to the north side of the lake and picked up Peter at the dock.  We were a bit light on crew, but we handled it. Saturday Night Racing

Last Saturday night was the second race at RCYC for the Saturday Night Summer Series.  It was also the first time the boat has been in the water since I replaced the outhaul on the boom.  Let me say this, the sounds the metal cables make while getting stretched out really shakes my confidence in my boat repairing abilities…but it did hold!  YEAY!

First Saturday Race (Prep’n For Dallas Race Week) / BOOOOOZE Crusie

img00708This Saturday was our first unOFFICIAL practice for the upcoming Dallas Race Week. We raced with the Chandler’s and BayView Sailors on their Saturday Damn Series.

We had a great group on the boat, and we needed it…Wind was blowing so hard that the little engine on the back could not even push us out of the Marina…we did manage to sail out after fighting to get the main up.

Founders Regatta Results

Last weekend we participated in the first Founders Regatta at RCYC celebrating the club’s 40th anniversary.  I was very pleased to see the number of boats involved from all across the lake.  We had racers competing from Chandler’s Landing  Yacht Club as well as BayView Yacht Club.

First Boooooooze Cruise of 2009

Well the first Booze Cruise of 2009 went pretty good. The Motor started right off…we got out on the water and cuised all the way up to the new Hilton. On the way back, we got to practice the MOB (man-over-board) manuver, but we never did recover the “man”. Poor RichyRich lost his hat to the fishes. Read more…
